THE FOOD SAFETY PLAN

The food safety plan on all production sites is managed by preventive controls qualified individuals (PCQI).

CONTAMINATION PREVENTION

As per the requirements of the BRCGS, production sites are equipped with foreign body removal equipment and control exerted over finished products. Furthermore, contamination by the packaging material used for bagging sugar and containers used for its transport is prevented through appropriate preventive controls.

Mauritius Special Sugars contain no added colours, artificial flavours and preservatives. Furthermore, they are not treated with ionising radiation. They are 100% natural based on these criteria.

PERFECTLY UNIFORM

Production of sugar crystals with uniform colour and size is achieved using efficient controls and processes, combined with the knowledge and skills of mill and refinery personnel.

PACKAGING

The Mauritius Sugar Syndicate ascertains that the packaging material to be used by the industry is sourced from suppliers conforming to relevant ethical standards while having in place a food safety management system recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative.
